1st Annual Sports Medicine Summer School Event

Bone & Joint Clinic and PEAK Performance Physical Therapy are hosting the 1st Annual High School Football Sports Medicine Summer School. This will be a crash course in everything needed for high school football sideline coverage. If you are providing sports medicine coverage in any capacity to high school athletes, you should attend this course. Topics and content will be geared toward coaches, doctors, PA’s and NPs, nurses, athletic trainers, and physical therapists.

9:25am – Hydration Strategies/Cramping (Ray Castle, PhD; LSU)

9:45am – Breakout Sessions for Hydration/Heat

10:05am – Spine Injuries & Stingers: Recognition, Precautions, Spine Boarding (Dr. Chambliss Harrod, Bone & Joint)

10:25am – Proper Equipment Removal (Kyle Goetting, ATC; Parkview Baptist)

10:40am – Breakout Sessions for Spine Boarding/Helmet Removal

11:00am – Knee/Lower Extremity Injuries & Prevention (Dr. Jeremy Burnham; Fabian Roussel PT/ATC, Peak Performance)
