BATON ROUGE LOCATION

Appointment Coordinator is the initial contact for the Bone and Joint Clinic. The main job responsibility is to schedule appointments and complete check out procedures. Appointment desk operations contribute to our organizational success.
 

Responsibilities

  • Enter necessary demographic information and schedule appointments following all office procedures
  • Transfer calls to appropriate extensions
  • Assist other departments as needed
  • Schedule return visits during check out process
  • Calculate and collect deductible and co-insurance amounts upon check out
  • Balance money drawer each day
  • Ensure cleanliness of office/workspace
  • Assist patients with medical records requests

Location & commitments

  • Permanent full-time position
  • 8am – 5pm
  • Monday -Friday
  • Baton Rouge (main location), unless otherwise stated

Front desk is the gateway of the clinic. The main job responsibility is to ensure a swift and thorough check in process. Agents will report to the front desk supervisor. Front desk operations contribute to our organization’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all steps of check in process
  • Verify insurance validity, co-pay amounts… and coordinate with accounting if needed
  • Review completed patient paperwork to ensure necessary information has been captured
  • Collect co-pays or any upfront fees
  • Transfer any paperwork/necessary information to doctor’s office
  • Perform Greeter duties on a rotational schedule
  • Balance money drawer each day
  • Ensure cleanliness of office/workspace

We are looking to fill open Medical Assistant positions. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for coordinating and completing daily administrative tasks and assisting our practitioners during clinic. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

  • Possesses the ability to learn and understand our practice management billing systems and apply that knowledge to all aspects of the patient account including billing and collections.
  • Verify insurance coverage & benefits
  • Answers inquiries from patients, co-workers, & supervisors regarding patient accounts in a kind & courteous manner
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines in handling patient information
  • Read, review & apply EOB/ERA’s
  • Investigates & appeal denied claims
  • Follow up & resolve financial discrepancies
  • Accounting duties include daily posting of incoming payments, checks & balances of daily totals, and bank deposits
  • Maintain aged A/R on a daily basis to keep outstanding balance to a minimum
  • Eagerly perform other duties as assigned

Education &/or Experience:

  • High school or equivalent with 2 years of medical billing experience.
  • Billing experience in a medical or physician office

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiology program required

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work with standard x-ray equipment
  • Accurately and safely position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays
  • Following established procedures and preferred protocols based on physician preferences
  • Able to effectively communicate with physicians, office staff, and patients
  • Work as a team member within the radiology department

 

Certification/ Licensure:

  1. National registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. (ARRT) R- Radiology
  2. Licensed with The LA State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners

 

  • Answer billing questions from patients in person over the phone
  • Take payments from patients
  • Check patient balances and reach out to collect
  • Provide patients with copies of their detailed statements via email and mail
  • Submit transfer and refund requests
  • Assist patients with establishing payment plans for outstanding balances
  • Assist front desk and appointment desk with verifying patient insurance and verify any account balances
  • File secondary claims
  • Update undeliverable and forwarded addresses
  • Apply unapplied payments to account balances

Job Description:
Qualified Physician Assistant will work directly with Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon in busy clinical and surgical settings. This includes assisting in surgery, seeing clinic and post- operative patients, helping Physician with rounding at area hospitals as well as other duties delegated by Physician.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • State of Louisiana Physician Assistant license, in good standing with no restrictions

Bone and Joint Clinic of Baton Rouge is a private practice group orthopedic clinic. Several of our surgeons are actively engaged in clinical research - both industry sponsored studies and investigator-initiated studies.

Responsibilities:

The Research Coordinator works under the general supervision of Orthopedic Surgeon Principal Investigators and the Research Projects Director to carry out clinical trial operations. Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Becoming familiar with all aspects of study protocols.
  • Deciphering medical histories and test results
  • Assisting with recruiting patients for enrollment
  • Consenting and tracking subjects in trials according to the study protocol
  • Coordinating and conducting all aspects of Patient Visits
  • Collecting, entering and maintaining all records for study subjects, including source document maintenance and electronic data capture (EDC) completion
  • Assist with monitoring visits
  • Assist with regulatory duties (Sponsor and IRB compliance requirements, etc) as needed
  • Taking patient phone calls concerning study visits, procedures and concerns
  • Assist with clinic-wide patient reported outcome (PRO) data collection program. (Acting as a resource for clinic patients and staff regarding this data collection.)

Qualifications:

  • Degree in life sciences, public health or related area.
  • Experience in health care preferred. Must be willing to assist with medical procedures in office and collect data in the operating room.
  • Must be able to work independently with strong work ethic.
  • Willing to maintain CITI training/ certifications as required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to prioritize efforts on multiple projects and work efficiently.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical professionals and study sponsor representatives.
  • High computer literacy and written communication skills required
