Can I be seen today/worked in?

Our doctor on call will work in all acute injuries that require immediate attention. All other new conditions will be appointed as soon as possible. Whether or not it is the same day depends on the physicians’ individual schedules that day.


How long will it take to fill out disability forms?

It varies, but we will be happy to contact you once your paperwork is complete.


Can I complete any of the paperwork before my visit?


Why do I have to go through the medical records department to get a copy of my records?

HIPAA laws require that certain procedures be followed in order to release copies of a patient’s medical record, including documentation of the request. We refer to the regulations established in the privacy and security rules. We make every effort to ensure the confidentiality of your medical record.


Can the Physician Assistant see me when the doctor is out?

Yes. But a Physician who has been appointed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners as a Supervising Physician to a Physician Assistant must always review and approve any treatment protocols.


Where is the Bone and Joint Clinic located?

What time does the office close?

Office hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Our switchboard opens at 8 a.m.


Do I need a referral?

You should contact your health plan for the most current information regarding your benefits.


Are wheelchairs available?

Yes, we maintain wheelchairs at all locations for our patients.


Is there a covered drop-off area?

Yes, there are covered drop off areas in Baton Rouge, Prairieville, Walker and Hammond.


Do you provide crutches?

Yes, we have crutches for our patients.


Are the x-rays taken in your office safe?

Yes. Although the exposure to radiation is kept at an absolute minimum, you should always let our Radiological Technicians know if you suspect that you could be pregnant.


Are the Bone and Joint physicians Board certified?

Yes, all physicians are Board certified or eligible for Board certification.


Will you file my health insurance claim for me?

Yes, we file all claims for our patients. We are capable of filing either electronically or via the postal service, depending on the requirements of your health plan.


What should I do in the case of an emergency?

You should go to the Emergency Room of the nearest hospital in the case of an emergency. Our physicians are on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to handle emergency situations. Our 24-hour emergency number is (225) 379-2135.

Is it necessary to bring reports, previous x-rays and/or MRI films to my first appointment?

It is not required that they be brought to your visit, however, these are all very important diagnostic tools for the physician.
