Michael A. Frierson, M.D.
Dr. Frierson attended the University of Michigan where he studied Microbiology. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1987. He completed an internship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood , Illinois in June of 1988. He also completed a residency at Loyola in 1992. He is a Pediatric Orthopaedic Specialist and completed a Fellowship at the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Tampa, Florida in 1993. Dr. Frierson became certified in orthopaedic surgery in 1996 by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He also contributes time to the Cerebral Palsy Clinic of Baton Rouge, and to Children's Special Health Services. Dr. Frierson has achieved recognition through the Army Achievement Medal for Superior Service as Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon and the Walter P. Blount Pioneer Award for research from the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society Meeting of North America.
