Alan C. Schroeder, M.D.
Dr. Schroeder earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1993 while serving as engineering student body president at Tulane University. He completed a master’s degree in Health Systems Management in 1996, also from Tulane, with Delta Omega distinction. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2000 with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery training as chief resident in 2005 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, a level one trauma center. He was voted the most outstanding orthopedic consultant by the emergency department, and was awarded the best research presentation at the annual state orthopedic society meeting. He finished an AO Trauma Fellowship in England under Piet deBoer, president elect of AO International. He is board eligible as of 2005 by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He completed an ACGME dual accredited Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship (extra specialty training) in 2006 at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center under the direction of Dr. Savoie, an international expert and author. He serves as an Associate Master Instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Schroeder’s interests include complete Sports Medicine care of the athlete at all levels, and minimally invasive and arthroscopic shoulder and knee reconstruction for all ages
